Indore, October 6, 2009 The Export of Soybean meal during the Oil year (October’08 – September’09) is down by 34.27% over the same period last year. The Exports during the period October’08 to September’09 was 32,12,600 MT as compared to 48,87,974 MT during the same period (October’07 – September’08) last year. During the Oil Year 08-09 Vietnam, Japan, Indonesia, Thailand and Korea were the major destinations for Indian Soybean meal exports. Vietnam and Japan together accounted for almost 50% of India’s Soybean meal Export during the oil year. The trend however during the month has been reversed and the Export of Soybean Meal during September’09 was 1,72,177 MT as against 68,442 MT during the same period last year, registering a growth of 151.57% over the same period last year. The Exports cumulatively during the period April’09 to September’09 was 6,31,399 MT as compared to 16,64,055 MT during the same period last year indicating a decline of 62% persisting with the decline in Exports. The data has been collected and compiled by SOPA based on the information received from Members, Port Authorities and Other Agencies. The data does not include exports to Pakistan, Nepal and Bangladesh by Rail or Road.
